PDP assures justice to agitating residents

Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assured all help to residents of village Dharana for effecting immediate arrest of six accused involved in the murder case of Raj Choudhary Zonal Party President, Raipur Domana.
Senior party leaders and workers today joined the funeral procession of their colleague at village Daharan and assured the local people that punitive action would be initiated against SHO Kana Chak and his body-guard whose involvement was alleged in the murder case. This was stated in a press release of the party.
Those who were present at cremation ground to bid tearful adieu to their party colleague included : T.S. Bajwa MP, Rangil Singh Senior leader, Manjeet Singh MLA, Ved Mahajan MLC, M.S. Tariq (Cabinet Minister Status, Daman Bhasin, Romesh Koul, Surjeet Kour Executive Members, Baldev Singh Salathia, Ashok Sharma, both district presidents Jammu Urban / Rural, Suram Singh, Dr. Keerat Singh, Choudhary Chuni, Suman Kumar, Chander Singh Slathia, Devinder Sharma Zone Presidnets, Chhajju Ram Senior leader from Khour, B.D. Gorkha, Baldev Singh Pappa, S. Nirmal Singh Chief organizing secretary labour, the release said.
As per the release PDP General Secretary, Romesh Mottan said that the residents of the area this morning staged a dharna by placing dead body on the road. He said that on receiving report of dharna, leaders rushed to the spot and assured the villagers of all help in effecting the arrest of culprits. The assured the irate mob that pending the enquiry, SHO Kana Chak would be got attached with head office.
Motton further said that villagers who created hurdles in smooth flow of traffic on the road had told PDP leaders that the body-guard of the SHO was committed crime roaming about by them on the site of the crime. Assailants, who committed crime on the instance of SHO fled away under police umbrella, the release added.
Romesh Motton stated that on receiving the report of the dharna SSP Jammu Mukesh Singh rushed to the spot and assured the villagers that all culprits would be arrested soon and punitive action would be taken against them under the law of land.
Later, party leaders held a condolence meeting as well and mourned the death of Raj Choudhary. They described the dedicated worker of the party and in his death a void has been created, which was difficult to fill. They also demanded ex-gratia relief for next of kin of deceased.
