| PDP leaders demand immediate relief for flood | | |
Rajouri | June 30
Senior leaders of Peoples Democratic Party, M.S. Tariq and Ch. Zulafkar District President expressing grief over the loss of lives and properties caused in the devastating flash floods in rivers of Rajouri recently have demanded construction of protection bunds along the banks of the river passing through Rajouri and Thanna Mandi, besides providing immediate compensation to the affected families.
Tariq is reported to have said that it was all due to the non serious attitude of the authorities towards the burning problems of the area that number of houses in Rajouri and Thana Mandi has been washed away completely, besides causing huge loss to live stock, he said.
Both leaders appealed to the government for providing immediate relief to the flood victims and also to take immediate remedial measures by constructing protection bunds on both sides of the rivers.
