| Bhim asks youth join battle against corruption, communalism | | |
Sudhmahadev | June 30 Thousands of Panthers Party workers drawn from various parts of state including Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Gujjars, Bakerwals and Gaddies today took a pledge, at the National Integration-cum-awareness camp, to fight for secularism, democracy and composite culture of Jammu and Kashmir. Prof. Bhim Singh Chairman of the party who administrated oath to the Panthers workers called on the youth of the state to join the battle against the growing corruption, communalism and criminalization in the state. The camp was also attended by leading artists, academicians, intellectuals and the renowned social activists of the state. In a resolution it warned that there shall be no elections to the State Assembly until delimitation of the Assembly constituencies. Delimitation is mandatory under the constitution and reservations have to be given to the Gujjars, Bakerwals and Gaddies, who have been listed in the Scheduled Tribes category, the resolution added. Delimitation also forms part of the CMP, the NPP said and appealed nationalists, secular and democratic forces in the country to support the candidature of Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, for the Presidential election. It has also accused Congress for hobnobbing with the communists, Shiv Sena, PDP and others, whose loyalty with the country is doubtful In another resolution the participants expressed solidarity and support with the agitating doctors, engineers, and home guards in their struggle to seek justice. Prof. Bhim urged the government to direct all the legislators, ministers and bureaucrats to disclose their assets and constitute Accountability Commission to bring all corrupt politicians to justice. Others who addressed the workers were Harsh Dev Singh, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Yashpal Kundal and Faqir Nath.
