| Husband-wife teacher duo of JU under clout of allegations | | Collect payment of published work in their names | |
Jammu | July 1 Allegedly continuing their mischievous activities, a husband-wife teacher duo of University of Jammu (JU) which is already under a clout of several allegations, is likely to be exposed further with the revelation that they have received payment of the copies of their published works in their own names, contrary to the rule that it should be issued towards the publishers’ account. According to sources, the duo had submitted the copies of their published works in their respective subjects at Shri Ranbir Singh Library, which is a central public library of Jammu. Since, both husband and wife were serving in University they couldn’t ask for the payment in their names and they had to submit the bills in the name of their publishers. But, the duo on the contrary, submitted the bills on their own name and even received the payment also. The duo even allegedly cheated one of their publishers by re-printing one of their published works without informing him. The submitted books include 60 copies of “Manpower (reprint in 2003)”, 40 copies of “Inflation & Agriculture” (in 2003) and 60 copies of “Public Library systems in J&K” (in 2006). All these published works were submitted in Shri Ranbir Singh Library, which is a central public library of Jammu, sources said. The book “Manpower” was originally published in 1995 and its re-print in the form of 60 copies was brought out in 2003, that too without the consent and knowledge of its publisher, divulged one of the library officials on the condition of anonymity. In lieu of all these books, the duo has collected the payment of around rupees one lakh but as per norm, the payment can’t be received by these serving authors on their own name rather it has be done on the name of publisher. Most recently the payment of Rs. 40, 000 was collected for the book “Public Library Systems in J&K”, sources maintained. It has been further learnt that a complaint is likely to be submitted in this regard to the concerned officials. It is pertinent to mention that allegation of copying the text of research scholar was also leveled against the author of “Public Library System in J&K”. In this regard, a complaint is still pending and being scrutinized by three member committee formed by the Dean Academic Affairs. Also, it is the same duo which allegedly committed default to the tune of Rs 10 lac with a private investment company.
