Jammu city is fast becoming city of flesh trade. The main areas where this trade is running are Railway Station, Bus Stand, Indira Chowk, SMGS Hospital, Bakshi Nagar, Janipur and some other crowded areas. In railway station some autorikshaws and taxi drivers are playing main role of pimp and providing girls to the customers. Even these people have their own particular places where they are running their business. This racket is running under the nose of city police.
According to sources, in some areas flesh trade is operated by some highly approachable peoples including some highly reputed families’ ladies. If anybody informs the police about it, police is afraid to trap them because of their approach in political as well as in police department. Girls who are playing under the hand of pimps are not only from poor family but from very highly qualified and reputed families also. The main aim of these girls to adopt this profession is earning more and more money to enjoy the lifestyle whereas some girls are doing for the sake of their family. Youth of Jammu city are now spoiling their life, whereas police are playing the role of spectators.
The sources said that rates of girls are decided near the Police naka at Indira Chowk and after final decision, the girls are handed over to customers at GMC Hospital in Bakshi Nagar being the safe place for making choice and deciding the rates. Sources added that some times rates are decided on the age of girls. Girls from 12 years onwards are playing in the hands of pimps. After getting money from customers, some amount is given to girls and some take the pimp. According to sources some lady pimp from outside the city took the poor girls from the outskirts from the city to show them bright future and serving them for their benefits to some highly position officers. Sources said that there are dozen of pimps who are running their rackets and have competition between them as who has more network and good girls. Even some have verbal agreement that they never send their girls to other areas to find the customers
