| Micro planning process in block Nyoma begins today | | |
Jammu | July 1 The Micro planning process in block Nyoma will start from tomorrow. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of councilors of block Nyoma chaired by Chief executive Councilor of LAHDC, Tsering Dorja Addressing the meeting Dorje said that the data collection under Micro level planning program is a lengthy and time-consuming work but it would go a long way in formulating a constructive planning for the development of villages and a hamlets. He appreciated the Local Resource Group, the Surveyors of TISS and functionaries of district administration for completing the MLP in Kharu Block. He said that MLP in Kharu block was done under Gurja-Project but now the MLP in Changthang area would be jointly conducted under Gurja and BCRLIP. The Conservator Forest Ladakh Range Jigmet Thakpa, who is the project Coordinator for BCRLIP, said that Changthang is being funded by World Bank for its land development and preservation of Wildlife. The Executive Councilor Health Doryay Motup said that the Changpa of the Changthang region should cooperate with the data collection team in providing the exact information of their house holding and other needs for their development. The Deputy Commissioner Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari on the occasion said that Micro Planning is a new concept of planning. He urged upon the District Officers to coordinate with the Gurja Project and BCRLIP. The meeting among others was attended by district officers, representatives of TATA Institute of social sciences and Bio-diversity, executive councilors, Tsering Norboo Lampa, Dorje Motup, Tsewang Riggin, and Mohammed Khan.
