| HR champions flay belt forces; observe silence towards terrorist atrocities | | Appease K-psychic using separatist lingo - pronounce ‘Central Govt. as Indian State’ | | Sanjay Khajuria Jammu July 3 The proponents of human right violations too prefer to remain media savvy over working for the real spirits of the issue. And thus going a bit beyond, HR activists even dare to term union government as ‘Indian State’ adopting separatist lingo resulting to attract criticism from various spheres. ‘They often target the belt forces only but have never dare to utter a word against the beasts (terrorists) roaming freely and mocking their claims of HR abuse, said Naveen Sharma a university student. “Perhaps they too fear the guns of terrorists who had no bindings or explanations whereas a personal from belt forces have bindings of the duty and held accountable for deeds.” Thus, they target only HR abuse by uniform, he added. A senior faculty medico engaged in government job on condition of anonymity said following the appeasement policy the so called HR activists spit venom against the police, paramilitary forces and the army but none had dared to say a word against the ‘terrorists’ who had outraged chastity of women in Valley, killed innocent and launched a terror regime. Ever since the militancy has emerged in state and even in North East it has been observed that the champions of human rights seem more interested in being inside media clippings than for working for the real cause of people. Worth to mention in a conference at Srinagar on May 11, mocking the government elected in 2002 polls, campaigners of human right abuse said, “Outside the Jammu and Kashmir, the ‘Indian State’ says normalcy has returned, but the ground situation here is different. The citizens here have no freedom; they enjoy that freedom which Indian Army wants them to enjoy. Prof N Babaiah of Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Committee humming the same lines had said the ‘Indian State’ has not abused human rights of a few individuals but it has violated human rights of entire Kashmir. Dr. Bela Bhatia of the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies Delhi too shared the similar bench to appease K-psychics and said she is ashamed of what Indian State was doing in Jammu and Kashmir in the name of Indian people and democracy. Surprisingly; these speakers, to win applauds, from the ‘Kashmir Psychic’ benches; used ‘the separatists’ lingo’ and instead of terming central government or the union government – they used the term – ‘Indian State’. “Indian state is projecting a rosy picture of situation but the facts are contrary,” BK Balagopal had said. Within their marathon conference these speakers in lengths criticized the belt forces but remained tight lipped to mention a word about Mariyam who was gang raped and was chopped of her ears and nose and many other innocents of Chapnari, Basantgarh, Surankote, Mendher, Manjakote, Kalakote and others places who were brutally killed and even the refugees from Pakistan who had suffered a lot since today. Prof Virender Gupta president Jammu State Morcha (Progressive) flay castigation of belt forces by these people and say that they only speak the language of anti-national elements who fund such activities. ‘The Indian army and paramilitary forces are their target only because they are being looked as nationalistic force, he said and added their mentors want their help in their campaign against army and thus they are bound to spank the belt forces. He also criticized the weak policies of center that has encouraged such elements to dare to speak ‘separatist dialect’ pronouncing central government as Indian state.
