| PNB launches another ‘edu’ loan scheme | | | Punjab National Bank (PNB) J&K Zone today launched a Special Education Loan Campaign 07-08 in the entire state of J&K in a function organized at Zonal Head Office Bahu Plaza. The campaign focused to run concurrently with the existing spread 07-08 launched by PNB to disburse 400 crores under various lending schemes in the entire State during the current financial year, official spokesperson stated. Chief guest 0 P Aggrawal Regional Director RBI J&K in his address complimented the host Punjab National Bank for taking lead in this noble cause. He also appreciated the rural angling managed by the bank in the state especially with regard to formation and credit linkage of women self help groups and farmers clubs. Earlier Vivek Arya , Zonal Manager Punjab National Bank informed the gathering that Bank shall ensure that no student who has secured admission to any premier educational/technical institute with good track record /back ground is not denied education loan facility. The bank also proposes to make itself the scheme more friendly, he said. . Arya further said that officers of the bank shall be holding slide shows, awareness functions and motivation workshops in all the professional institutions of the state to create awareness about the banking schemes. He added that a target of 400 cases involving an outlay of Rs.15.00 crores has been set for education loan portfolio during the current fiscal. He also informed that no collateral security shall be asked for the education loon upto Rs.7.S0 lacs for studies in India. He also informed that that there will be no self contribution like margin for education loan upto Rs.4.00 lacs while it weill be just 5 per cent for loan beyond Rs.4.00 lacs to Rs.7.50. a large number of senior bank officials and the officials of other banks were present on this occasion.
