| Panic grips DPL | | Accidental fire from Cops’ rifle | |

Panic gripped the District Police Lines (DPL) here today following an accidental fire from a cops’ rifle on guard duty. However, no one was injured in the incident.
Immediately after hearing the gun shot, the security forces rushed to the spot. On an inquiry it was found that one Jai Krishan, constable of JKAP 12th battalion, was on guard duty, when a bullet accidently went off from his Insas rifle causing panic in the entire police lines.
The constable was taken into custody for questioning.
The police have not registered a case in this regard the sources said adding that a departmental inquiry would be ordered into the accidental fire.
