Deputy CM says BJP can walk out of alliance with PDP
7/6/2015 11:58:57 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, July 6: Deputy chief minister Nirmal Singh said the BJP will not compromise on national interests and walk out of the alliance with Peoples Democratic party, the day the party feels it is becoming difficult to stay in the Jammu and Kashmir state government.
"It's not an ideological but governance alliance (BJP-PDP alliance). But, there will be no compromise on national interests in J&K. The day the party (BJP) feels that it has become difficult to continue in government, we will not stay in power for a second," he said while addressing party workers at function on the 114th birth anniversary of Jana Sangh (earlier avatar of the BJP) founder president late Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee.
Shyama Prasad had died in jail when he was arrested on May 11, 1953 for entering the state without relevant documents on his illness.
He had been demanding full integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India.
The chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had, on the day of government formation, said that it's both an ideological and political alliance. The agenda of the alliance, however, states that it is a governance alliance.
The MoS PMO Jitendra Singh had also said it is an alliance for agreeing to disagree.
The BJP-PDP alliance had run into a rough weather over the alleged shifting of the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) to Kashmir.
In Kashmir, the PDP has been accused of aligning with the 'insensitive' BJP as it has not released adequate funds for rehabilitation of the 2014 flood-affected residents. PDP MP Tariq Hamid Karra had said the party should walk out of the alliance.
