| 80 pour their grievances into CM office, daily | | |
Jammu, July 4: With promises of good governance and prompt redress of grievances abound, at atleast 80 people are visiting the Chief Minister’s private residence in summer capital Srinagar on a daily average. Even though the Chief Minister himself does not attend the visitors and delegations to his private office situated a Church Lane, but he has posted a number of senior officers including an officer of the level of Secretary to the Government for attending to the issues and problems of the visitors. Immediately after taking over as Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad has conceptualised the system of establishing private office to attend to those people who are not able to reach the heavily fortified secretariat. The advantage of the private office is that any plea made there is send to the concerned departments for perusal and processing. The departments down the line have been directed to take a serious and prompt note of recommendations made from the Chief Minister’s private office. According to an official release, as many as 284 delegations comprising hundreds of persons and 1930 individuals from various parts of the Valley approached the Chief Minister’s Private Office in the month of June and July. To be on the lowest side, if each delegation comprised of ten people and then including the figure of individual visitors, atleast 4770 people visited the CM’s private office –which means 80 people visiting daily with their problems. According an official release, the delegations included deputation of Unemployed Physical Education Trainees demanding absorption as Rehbar-e-Khail, deputation of Combined Services Officers of 1999 batch demanding common seniority and promotion on the basis of Public Service Commission. Deputation of Zamindars of Anantnag and Kulgam demanded modernization of Martand and Maw khuls. Likewise delegation of Magam Development Forum demanded restoration of Magam constituency with development block. Teachers Association deputation visited Chief Minister’s Private Office in connection with regularization of left out Falah-i-Aam teachers and ex-health educators delegation demanded re-engagement. The deputations of Houseboat Owners Association, SRTC Employees Association and Congress workers of Baramulla demanded rehabilitation of affectees under Dal Development Programme, release of COLA and pending salary and expeditious execution of development works in Baramulla district. Whereas the delegation of Kashmiri Pandits from Budgam district demanded rehabilitation of non-migrant Pandits. The issues have been sent to the concerned quarters for speedy and appropriate disposal and action taken reports sought for the perusal of the Chief Minister.
