| CBI presents challan against Manager Rural Bank | | | JAMMU, JULY 04- CBI/ACB Jammu presented challan against Ghar Chand, the then Branch Manager Jammu Rural Bank, Rehal Branch (presently under suspension) who was caught red-handed by the CBI while accepting Rs.3000 as bribe from the complainant for sanctioning loan in his favour. In a written complaint lodged on March 16, 2007, one Teja Ram r/o Chak Fateh Khan, Tehsil Bishnah alleged that Ghar Chand Manager Jammu Rural Bank Rehal demanded Rs 20,000 from the complainant in consideration of sanction of personal loan of Rs two lakhs from the bank. When the complainant informed the accused that he cannot arrange such huge amount, the accused directed the complainant to pay him Rs 3000 as advance and remaining Rs 17000 from the loan amount at the time of disbursement of loan. Upon this complaint, a case was registered and a trap team was constituted headed by Additional SP CBI/ACB Mr. KL Raina. The team laid a trap in the house of accused Ghar Chand at Bishnah and caught the accused red-handed while accepting bribe money. He was later released on bail on March 20 last. Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Mr. Kartar Singh after perusal of the challan directed the CBI to lead the evidence in the case on the next date of hearing
