| Naib Sarpanch murdered in Hiranagar | | Girl among two arrested | |

A naib sarpanch was today murdered by one person at village Sarthi Kalan area in Hiranagar due to some old rivalry. Police have arrested two persons including a girl in this regard.
According to reports, Chander Kant son of Daya Ram resident of Sarthi Kalan today early morning attacked naib sarpanch Rash Paul Singh son of Chajju Singh resident of same village with sharp edged weapon when he was deep asleep in his house. The other family members caught hold the accused and locked him in a room. After hearing hue and cry the neighbours rushed to the spot and started beating the accused and also informed the police.
On reaching the spot the Police took the accused to hospital in injured condition and conducted the postmortem of the deceased. The body was later handed over to the family members for last rites.
Sources said the reason behind the gruesome attack was some old dispute and the accused some day back had fled away from the area along with a girl Geeta Devi (name changed). After remaining away for three months out of the area, the accused returned back along the girl two days back. The Naib sarpanch handed over the girl to the family members and warned the accused.
According to police the accused was hidding in the bath room of the deceased since last night and today early morning when some body opened the bathroom, the accused attacked the naib sarpanch with sharp edged weapons due to his instant death.
Police has registered a case in this regard and arrested two persons including the girl in this regard while one person who was also reportedly involved in the murder was still absconding.
