| JK police team to scale 7140 mtr Nun Kun | | |
Srinagar, August 10 – A team comprising 20 JK Police personnel & 10 supervisory staff is leaving for a mountaineering expedition to scale the 7140 mtrs Nun peak in Zanaskar valley of Ladakah region today. The peak is considered as one of the most technical and strategic peaks of the world.
This expedition is a part of training for police personnel to train them in adventure sports like skiing, water sports, rock climbing, mountaineering and to enhance their efficiency in carrying out relief operation in high altitudes, avalanches hit, quake and flood hit areas.
It is pertinent to mention here that JK Police team has already scaled the highest peak Stock Kangri (19000-ft) in Leh region in September, 2005.
