JAMMU, July 10: In the ongoing workshop on the topic Theatre Designing and Techniques organised jointly by National School of Drama, New Delhi and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Deepak kumar, prominent Theatre director and performer delivered his extension lecture on the Topic Theatre and Life in the said series of lectures arranged for the students of workshop. Bapi Bose, internationally acclaimed theatre director and craftsman and the camp director of the said workshop, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Dr Sudhir Mahajan, Senior Drama Instructor were also present on the occasion. Deepak Kumar , while delivering his extension lecture on the topic Theatre and Life shared his experience as actor and theatre director. He told that he started theatre as a performer in 1977 and since then he is doing regular theatre in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. While speaking about the importance and use of theatre skills in life he said that one must apply the theatre techniques and skills in daily life and for social reform theatre is the most effective medium to communicate and directly interact with the common folk. He further said that theatre can be applied to aware the masses politically, socially, morally, ethically irrespective of caste creed and color. He also shared his struggling period and his visit to America and Lahore for the performance of his Dogri Play Aaley. Earlier, Bapi Bose, in his welcome address defined Deepak Kumar an actor and director of a repute and eminence working for the theatre movement of Jammu and Kashmir since last four decades. He welcomed and also thanked Deepak for sharing his experiences in theatre. |
