| Mankotia, Akhoon visit protest venues | | | Mankotia, Akhoon visit protest venues Jammu July 5 Ousted Excise Employees (C-IV) continued their protest on the 156th day in support of their demand of their absorption against their posts. The employees staged a protest demonstration outside the office of the Excise and Taxation at Panama Chowk while a similar protest was staged at Old Secretariat Srinagar. Addressing the protestors Adil Rashid Khan the president of the association mentioned JKNPP MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia visited venue of protest in Jammu whereas Mohammed Sayeed Akhoon MLA National Conference visited the protestors in Srinagar on Wednesday. Both leaders had expressed their solidarity with the ousted employees and assured that they will take up the matter to concerned authorities including Minister for Finance for the early redressal. Further he reminded the state government about the assurances from chief minister and finance minister given in the assembly on 8/02/07 for regularizing the ousted Class IV employees. Khan also mentioned that because of the lack of employment has even put them in fix to pay the school fees of their wards. The speakers gave a deadline to the state government to concede to their demands by 15/07/07 otherwise they will be forced to intensify their stir to get their just rights. Besides Adil Rashid Khan other speakers demanded early regularization of ousted Class IV employees and appealed the chief minister to adopt a rational policy to absorb all those who had rendered over eight years of regular services as permanent employees in the said department.
