The Tourism Department is organizing Kargil Festival- 2007 in a befitting manner from July, 10 to 12, at Khree Sultan Choo Sports Stadium, Baroo situated on the banks of river Suru in Kargil.
To make the festival a successful event, a meeting of Kargil Festival Organizing Committee, was held here today to review the arrangement being made by the respective committees. The Additional Deputy Commissioner, who is also the Chairman of Kargil Festival Organizing Committee, chaired by the meeting.
During the Festival, a number of programs are being held to attract tourists from the both within and outside the state.
The special attraction of the Festival will be archery competitions, horse polo matches, Shina, Purkhi, Balti, Darchik-Garkhon and Ladakhi cultural items, exhibition of Kargil Art and Crafts and photo exhibitions of ancient and modern Kargil and other recreational activities.
