Jammu,July 6 The Praja Parishad, which was revived in Jammu in 2005 after a minor split in the state unit of the BJP, is contemplating move to forge an alliance with Bhajuan Samaj Party in the state for the 2008 Assembly elections. We are exploring the options of forging an alliance with the BSP for the 2008 polls. we are already in touch with senior BSP leader in Jammu and we may visit Lucknow for a meeting with the UP chief Minister,Ms Mayawati.” President of Praja parishad,Chander Mohan Sharma, said here today “ In reply to a question he said “if the alliance with the BSP did not fructify we may contest either alone or under an electoral arrangement with some small local political organizations. His aim was to forge Brahmin-Dalit alliance in the Jammu region so that neither the Congress nor the National Conference could cause any major dent in the Dalit vote bank. Chander Mohan Sharma, alongwith some senior leaders, quit the BJP in Augst 2005 after he was blamed by leadership of the parent organization for having indulged in anti-BJP activities during the 2002 Assembly poll. After about a year feelers were sent to him by senior BJP leaders in Delhi for rejoining the parent body but he declined the offer. Inside reports said that senior Congress leader and a ministerial colleague of Chief Minister,Ghulam Nabi Azad, was trying to keep Mr Chander Mohan in good humour so that he(Minister) was assured of Brahmin voters support in his constituency in Jammu city during the next election. In case Chander Mohan Sharma succeeded in his bid to forge an alliance with the BSP it may affect the BJP in the region.(
