| Congress leaders cautions against politicizing religious issues | | |
Jammu July 6 Vinod Sharma general secretary and Ashok Sharma secretary Pradesh Congress Committee have condemned the recent politicalizing of the melting of sacred Ice Lingam at Holy Cave Shrine of Amarnath in South Kashmir and connecting it with the failure of Azad led coalition government. In a joint statement the Congress duo has flayed the approach of various political and non political parties to deal with this sensitive and religious issue and cautioned the parties not to deal the issue on communal lines further demanded such elements with some vested interest to be dealt with iron hands. Both have condemned the Shiv Sena and the others who are making the Ice Lingam a political issue by appending it with the coalition government which has no role in it. An independent shrine board ins nodal authority to look after the affairs of the yatra and the Shrine thus dragging the government in this issue is wrong. At the same time global warming may have a root cause in the early melting of the Lingam at Holy Shrine, they added.
