| Communal approach - basic cause for present day situation: Chaman | | | Jammu July 6- Paying rich tributes to founder of the BJP Dr Shayama Prashad Mukerji, former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta said that late Mukerji was a great visionary with having patriotic feelings adding that if the leadership of Delhi in early fifties had gone by the advice of Dr. Mukerji, the country would not have faced many a complex problems in Jammu and Kashmir. While paying tributes to the BJP founder on his 10th birth anniversary at a function held at Kugwal 42 Kms from here, the former Minister said the works done by this great soul during his short span of time would be remembered for a long time to come adding that his supreme sacrifice during his detention in Kashmir in 1953 struggle would have great impact in defending Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of India. Prof Gupta said that Article 370 and separate constitution have proved a big folly as these have given birth to many problems although Dr Mukerji was opposed to these signs of separatism. Lashing out at the Congress and other protagonists of separate constitution for the State, the BJP leader said that it was strange that Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah and other representatives of this state were party and signatories to the making of Indian constitution but they sought a different constitution for Jammu and Kashmir under some communal thinking which had created a theoretic state of Pakistan, This communal approach under slogans of pseudo secularism is the crux of the whole malady in this part of India, Prof Gupta observed. ‘Saying that unless the remaining signs of separatisms are removed and foreign intervention in the affairs of Jammu and Kashmir is tackled with a vision envisioned by Dr Mukerji’, the BJP leader said the country would continue to face the music, which is the outcome of the appeasement of communalism.
