Militants kidnapped seven Village Defence Committee (VDC) members from Chatroo area of Kishtwar along with their weapons.
According to reports, a group of militants attacked on the village late last night and kidnapped seven VDC members along with their weapons and took them into the forest, where they released five of them today morning and took the remaining two members along with them.
According to released members, militants tortured them brutally and also snatched their weapons. Police and other security forces after getting the information started a search operation in the area to rescue other members. The whereabouts of the two kidnapped VDCs were not known till the reports last came in, the report said..
