| Speaker reviews arrangements for ensuing Assembly session | | |

– Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly Mr. Tara Chand reviewed the arrangements for ensuing Assembly session at a high level meeting of officers held here today under his chairmanship. The Assembly session is scheduled to begun at Srinagar on July 19.
For the smooth conduct of Business in the House, the Speaker asked all concerned departments to take necessary steps. He issued specific instructions, to security agencies to ensure fool proof security in and around Assembly complex and MLA’s hostel. While making security arrangements, Speaker said that general public should not face any difficulty in their movements. Security agencies have already displayed their bravery character in tackling with the turbulent conditions of the state during the last over eighteen years, Mr. Tara chand said and hoped that they would continue to perform their duties with utmost alert and care.
Speaker instructed the Estates, Power, Floriculture Departments, JKPCC and other agencies responsible for renovation work of Assembly premises to complete it well in time so that the security agencies could take over the charge of the complex.
Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation and Hospitality and Protocol Departments were asked to make arrangements for quality food and refreshment for the members, staff and media persons within the Assembly premises on subsidized rates on the pattern of Parliament House, besides adequate seating arrangement.
Similarly, the Information Department was asked to arrange passes for media persons for the coverage of proceedings. The department would also arrange stand by PAS system in the House and facility for press conferences by Legislators in the Assembly lawns.
The other concerned departments were also issued instructions for making assigned arrangements.
