Ultra surrenders in Rajouri
‘Several Pak trained youth in wait to surrender’

Rajouri, July 7
A local militant of border district Poonch surrendered before Army soon after he crossed over to this side of Line of Control in Laam area of border district Rajouri on Thursday. Soon after his surrender he was shifted to army interrogation centre for questioning and has not been handed over to police so far, said sources. He is also said to have revealed to his interrogators that some more local boys who had gone for arms training some years ago are ready to get a chance to cross the LoC and surrender before the Indian army.
Giving details, sources said, one Sakhi Mohammed of Poonch Haveli who had gone for arms training in PoK some years ago returned back on Thursday and surrendered before the Army at Laam area of Rajouri district on Thursday. SSO after crossing LoC success fully, Sakhi Mohammed raised both his hands in air giving the impression that he wanted to surrender. On this, the Army jawans laid a cordon around him and asked him to lay down the arms and ammunition before coming near to them which he followed.
Soon after, his surrender, Sakhi Mohammad was shifted to unknown place and is being still questioned by the Army agencies, said sources.
Sources said, during his interrogation, Sakhi Mohammad is said to have revealed to the interrogating officers that for the past many months he had been looking for a chance to give a successful slip to the militancy monitors across the LoC but could not get a chance. He said about two dozen more local boys of Rajouri and Poonch who had gone for arms training few years ago are also in wait of an appropriate time to get back and surrender before the law of their mother land.“ But they are hesitating that if they came back with out any contact with the army on this side of border they will be killed. They have sent me to make the contact with the Indian army and make it possible that we can surrender success fully”, Sakhi is said to have told his interrogators. He is also said to have handed over one AK rifle, 100 rounds and two magazines to the Army.
Dy SP headquarters Rajouri K S Jasrotia confirmed to this correspondent that a person has surrendered before an army unit in Laam area on Thursday; however, he has not been handed over to police as yet. He said the alleged militant is still in army custody adding that he will be separately interrogated by police when he is handed over to them.
