| PNB organize awareness camp for farmers at village Kroh | | | Jammu | July 7 An awareness camp for the farmers of village Kroh near Lakhanpur in district Kalthua was organized by the Punjab National Bank (PNB) today. The camp which was organized by the zonal manager of the PNB, Vivek Arya was attended by the entire residents of village Kroh, including large number of villagers of adjoining area. Addressing the gathering District Coordinator, PNB, Kathua said, the bank had since started opening of zero balance accounts under financial inclusion scheme which has been made available at Lakhanpur branch of the bank for the villagers of adjoining areas of Lakhanpur. He asked village heads to take personal interest in bringing all needy farmers to the bank for opening of their accounts with zero balance or for availing loan for any productive venture. Officials of the bank advised farmers to avail benefits of liberalized lending scenario of banks to increase agriculture production and improve their living standard. Schemes like Bee-Keeping, Mushroom cultivation, Flower Cultivation, Strawberry plantation and vegetable cultivation were explained in detail by Rohit Rana Agriculture officer of PNB and explained the concept of Farmer Club and Self Help group to the farmers. Agriculture extension officer of the area assured the farmers of all possible help and support for taking up any viable farm activity so as to supplement individual family income. Rattan Sing prominent villager of Village Kroh (Lakhanpur) presented vote of thanks.
