Seintillating cultural programme enthrall Kargil people

On the eve of Kargil festival a scintillating culture programme presented by artists of four cultural organizations was presented by the J&K Cultural Academy. Kargil, Balti, Shina, Darchik-Garkhon and Ladakhi dances enthralled the audience.
Deputy Commissioner, Kargil R.K. Bhagat Director of Information, Zafar Ahmad and Additional Secretary Academy Jammu TR Sharma among other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Secretary Cultural Academy Rafiq Masoodi while complimenting the recipient of the best book award Sadiq Ali Sadiq for ‘Sadiya’ said that Kargil is rich in culture .He said five different ethnic group like Brogpa ,Shina ,Balti,Purik and Ladakhi which exist in Kargil and is imperative to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage .He stressed upon the people to organize cultural programme and other traditional activities frequently in the district so that people of new generation are mad aware about the culture past of the area.
In this address ,the deputy commissioner, Bhagat lauded the endeavors of cultural academy and said Kargil has multi-ethnic , multi-cultural and multi-lingual people and it is the responsibility of the people to preserve the cultural heritage of the area.
Appreciating the performance of the artist Director of information Zafar Ahmed said that the information department will extent cooperation in promoting the ancient and traditional culture of the region .
Large number of people including councilor ,LAHDC, Kargil Haji Amar ,Tanver Ahmed Tanver ,Advocate Murtaza ,Sadiq Ali Sadiq and other prominent were present to witness the cultural programme.
