jAMMU, August 2: Pakistan once again violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) on the International Border in RS Pura Sector on Sunday. The BSF opened retaliatory fire after Pakistan Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing at BSF posts at 1:30 am. "Pakistan Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing at BSF (Border Security Force) outposts in Kotranka area of RS Pura sector," a police officer told. "Intermittent firing exchanges continued in the area till 2.30 am." The officer said no casualty or damage has been reported from the Indian side. Pakistan troops have violated the bilateral ceasefire agreement over a dozen times during the last seven days on the border, causing panic among thousands of villagers in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts. These border residents have been forced to abandon their homes and agricultural fields for fear of life.
