| Shastri urges PM to declare Jammu, Srinagar B-1 cities | | |

President National Mazdoor conference, Subhash Shastri while addressing the workers at a meeting has urged upon the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh to declare Jammu and Srinagar cities as B-1cities.
He said, the PM who is visiting here on July 10 is requested to announce the historic decision which will be remembered by the people of both the capital cities of the state. Shastri further said granting the status, would ensure more flow of funds for upgrading infrastructure and modernizing of civic amenities of these fast expanding cities. He said it will benefit salaried class with increase HRA and CCA as cost of living have increased.
In the meeting Several resolutions were passed which included early release of 22 months salary of motivators working in IWDP project, Akhnoor beside their regularization. Seasonal labourers of irrigation division Akhnoor be adjusted as permanent in the vacant posts, release of 52 months salary of daily wagers working in Social Forestry Department, Trikuta Hill, release of pending installments of cola and payment of salary Chowkidars/Malies of RDD etc.
Those who spokes on the occasion included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Sham Lal Sharma, Geeta Devi, Bodh Raj Sharma, Mohd. Farooq, Sukhdev Singh, Madan Lal, Puran Chand, Sat Pal Sharma, Lalit Sharma, Subash Chander, Ram Lal Sharma, Prabh Dayal, Sudagar Mal and Bhupinder Singh.
