| Greening “India Day” organized | | |

One of the biggest Military events, the “Fourth World Military Games” are to be conducted at Secundarabad in the month of Oct .2007. To increase the awareness about the event and to mark hundred days; the Army has decided to dedicate this day as “Greening India Day”. On this occasion, at Udhampur Garrison a central event was organized at Garhi where in Shiela Menon, Coordinator AWWA HQ Northern Command planted a sapling. Various senior Military officials, other ranks and their families also planted saplings. The events was also organized at the Unit Level where approximately 15,000 saplings were planted. The Indian Army has always been conscious about the environmental aspects and has done a remarkable job of greening India.
