Unemployment, tension leads engineer to suicide attempt

Failure of government machinery, in solving the problems of the unemployed engineers, which are on agitation for the last 90 days, led an unemployed engineer to take a drastic step of attempting suicide.
The unemployed engineers are on agitation for the last many days seeking their absorption under rehbere scheme announced by the state government, to fill up the vacancies lying vacant in the various departments.
Protesting engineers blamed that as the government has failed in solving the problems of unemployed engineers, they have been forced to resort to fast-un-to-death, Jammu Bandhs and other ways of protest.
On Saturday, an unemployed engineer, Deepak Salthia, attempted suicide by jumping into Tawi. Today after he improved a little at GMC hospital, he told the press that due to the wrong policies of the government the unemployed engineers are getting frustrated and more like him might take such extreme step.
