A Border Security Force jawan was found dead in suspicious circumstances in Poonch district, while another jawan attempted to end his life by shooting himself with his service weapon in border district of Rajouri. Posted at Manjakot, the 54 Bn Border Security Jawan is struggling between life and death at Army hospital Rajouri. Giving details sources told News Agency of Kashmir that Sepoy Satinder Singh of Itawa UP shot himself with his service weapon early this morning today at 6 am. The bullet pierced through his abdomen, injuring him critically, sources added. Satinder was immediately shifted to army hospital Rajouri, where doctors attending on him stated his condition as critical. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the Sepoy was upset for some time due to domestic problems at his home. Meanwhile, sources said a border security force constable was found dead with his throat slit in a security force barrack in Poonch district on Monday. Sources said that throat slit body of Head constable Gaviri Ram of 138 battalion was found lying in a pool of blood inside his barrack in the BSF camp Khanetar top area, this morning. Officials said that the constable seems to have committed suicide by slitting his throat. However, police said that it was investigating the matter as the death still seems to be suspicious.
