| Rotary Club installs Pawan Gupta as President | | |
Akhnoor July 9 Rotary Club Akhnoor organized an installation ceremony for the new President and his team at Kameshwar Palace here today. Rtn.D N Sharma Assistant Governor R I District 3070 who was the chief guest on the occasion installed Rtn Pawan Gupta as Club President for Rotary Year 2007-08, Sachin Gupta as Secretary, Rtn Anoop Gupta as Treasurer of the Club.
Earlier, the outgoing President gave a detailed account of the programs undertaken by the Club under his guidance.
On this occasion the Innerwheel Club Akhnoor installed I W Priya Gupta as President by the guest of honour Sudesh Sharma wife of MLA Akhnoor Sham Lal Sharma.
The newly elected President Rtn Pawan Gupta in his maiden speech unfolded his future plans to make the Club more result oriented.
He, on this occasion, also distributed three sewing machines to poor and needy woman and a pedestal fan to Param Parshad Ashram Akhnoor. The Club also presented two cheques of Rs.300 each to two HIV positive children of village Tanda Akhnoor.
In his presidential address Rtn PP Dr Romesh Kashyap lauded Rtn late Dr.Pardeep Gupta for his contribution to the society and the club.
