| Niaz urges Uttranchal government to shift bodies of laboures | | | Srinagar, July 9 Member Legislative Council and former Minister, Mohammad Sharief Niaz has condoled the death of four labourers, including two hailing from Doda District, due to cloud burst while working in Uttaranchal State Forest Corporation at District Ruderparyag last week. The tragic incident was brought to the notice of Niaz by the other Labourers (Cherani) hailing from Doda District telephonically today. In a statement issued here today the Congress leader has appealed the Uttranchal Government to arrange immediate shifting of the bodies to their home town for performing last rites. He has also demanded grant of ex gratia relief in favour of the deceased families. The labourers killed in the cloud burst have been identified as Nazir Ahmed and Mohd Amin sons of Bashir Ahmed Naik R/o Joura tehsil Thathri of Doda District and their relative namely Mohd Yousif Ajaz Ahmed residents of village Saree of Chamba District of HP. The deceased labourers on the fateful day were working in Forest Compartment No.28/06/07 at Butumgri-Kamargrah in District Ruderparyag engaged by a contractor of State Forest Corporation Uttranchal, namely Surinder Singh. He has also taken up the matter in this regard with the State government for immediate shifting of the dead bodies to their respective villages. Niaz has conveyed his heart felt condolence to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
