NC responsible for turmoil: Shah Nawaz
7/10/2007 11:34:15 PM

DODA:
National President of BJP Minority Morcha Syed Shah Nawaz Hussain today addressed a massive public rally at Doda organized by Muslim Morcha, the J&K chapter of BJP Minority Morcha, under Ishtiaq Wani. Syed Shah Nawaz was given a rousing reception on his arrival at the rally venue.
In his address, Syed Shah Nawaz Hussain held the Congress and National Conference responsible for the turmoil in the state. He said both these parties and PDP have promoted the cause of separatists and fundamentalists and used the people for political gains. Praising the Indian democracy for its secular character, he said the Muslims in India enjoy more freedom and respect than any other country, including Pakistan. He said the BJP believes in equality and brotherhood and for that it do not need any endorsement from Congress which has always exploited the sentiments of Muslims across the country for vote bank politics. How much concerned the Congress is for Muslims is clear from the fact that it did not agree to support APJ Abdul Kalam for second term of President of India despite the fact that Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat had declared to withdraw from the race in case Congress supported APJ Abdul Kalam, added Shah Nawaz Hussain. Another glaring example of Congress’ concern for the minorities in India can be well judged from the fact that the Congress-led UPA, during the last three years, set up three commissions for minorities but with no fruits. All the slogans of Congress for welfare of minorities in India has proved to be lip service only.
Hussain advised the Congress -led UPA to desist from playing with the sentiments of the minorities and instead do some practical work for their welfare.
BJP State president Ashok Khajuria, Former Union MoS Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta and Member National executive & former State President Dr. Nirmal Singh, in their addresses, charged the present coalition government in the state of total failure on all fronts.
