| 7 yr old rapped by 17 yr old neighbour | | |

A seven year old girl was rapped, allegedly by his seventeen year old neighbour in a remote village of Udhampur district, late on Sunday night, official sources said here today.
The girl (name upheld) was reportedly battling between life and death in Udhampur hospital, where she was shifted keeping in view her critical condition, they added.
Resident of village Badole in Ramnagar area of Udhampur district, the minor was allegedly raped by seventeen year old Ajay Kumar, who is said to be son of a laboratory technician working in Ramnagar hospital. He was absconding when the last report came in.
Giving details a senior police officer told News Agency of Kashmir, over phone from Udhampur, that the seven year old girl went missing from her home last evening and did not return for more than three hours.
"When her mother went out in her search, she discovered the girl laying in pool of blood behind bushes in outskirts of the village", the police officer said.
The girl, he said, was shifted to Ramnagar hospital in unconscious condition from where she was later shifted to district hospital Udhampur. "Her condition is still critical", he added.
Sources said that the victim has revealed the name of rapist as Ajay Kumar, who took her to the fields and committed rape upon her.
Police said that a case has been registered under section 376 RPC against the accused and teams have been fanned out in different directions to arrest him.
