| Alternate road to Kashmir sought | | | Jammu July 10 Samajwadi Party in a meeting has emphasized upon opening for an alternate route between Jammu and Kashmir. A meeting under chairmanship of state president of the party Sheikh Abdul Rehman passed resolution demanding enhancing road networking within the state particularly early completion of Mugal Road Project. During the proceedings of the meeting former MP and state president of the party who chaired the meeting asked the state government to enhance the road networking and means of communication to bridge the gap between the far remote areas that has neglected in regard to the development. He also stressed for the alternate route to link Jammu and Kashmir as inspite of the due maintenance the existing road faced blockades in rainy season and during heavy snowfall. “thus the state government needs to expedite construction work on Mugal Road Project to have an alternate approach route to valley, he said. Thereafter in a resolution passed unanimously the Samajwadi Party demanded Construction of road between Doda and kapran via Desa and Mahore to Gulab Garh. The members also suggested its extension to Shopian in Kashmir through a small tube dug out in the barrier mountainous terrain. Member opinioned that doing so the government will not be improving the road connectivity but also boost the tourism in the state which certainly will reflect upon the economy of state. Those who were present in this meeting included Ram Prakash Sharma, D K Singh, Sham Lal Mahasha, Shiv Lal Sharma, Sheikh Mohd Shafi, Pritan Gupta, Krishan Lal Sharma, Iqbal Singh Iqbal, Preeto Devi and others. |
