The wild life department has identified the species of viper as Russells and released it in the Sidhra forest area along with all the serpulas. According to officials of the wild life department supervising the task, the viper had later delivered three more serpulas in the captivity taking the total number of small serpents to 44. One serpula later died, the wild life officials confirmed. Giving reasons why they felt the need to release the viper in jungle area, a senior wild life official said that initially we thought that we will look after them but then we realized that viper is due to give birth to few more serpulas and in the absence of adequate space we decided to release it it its natural habitat.
