Deputations call on Mufti
7/11/2007 11:37:08 PM

Srinagar, July 11: Deputations from Qaimoh Kulgam, Ranbirpora (Anantnag), Magam (Budgam), Ramban, Banihal, Wasoora (Pulwama), Chitragam (Shopian) and unemployed trained physical education teachers association called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Patron, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed here today to bring into his notice their problems and grievances.
The deputation from Ranbirpora Anantnag said the area is lacking in basic health facilities and urged for opening of a hospital there so that they need not to move to other places for treatment of their patients. They demanded that elections be conducted in the Auqaf Committee Ranbirpora to make it fully functional. They also demanded for opening of a branch of JK Bank, early completion of the playground and macadamization of roads of area. The deputation from Wasoora Pulwama demanded construction of road from Niayun to Pulwama via Tahab and early completion of the Lift Irrigation Project at Wasoora as there is acute scarcity of drinking and irrigation water facilities in the area and they also demanded that the proposed hospital building be constructed at the earliest which has already been sanctioned by the government.
A deputation from around a dozen remote villages of Chakka, Kundi, Bibrotha, Chuchatter and Saroch demanded that these villages may be made a part of the Ramban district instead of district Doda. They said being physically nearest to Ramban, it is an injustice with them to annex them with district Doda.
A deputation of unemployed trained Physical Education Teachers Association headed by its president also called on Sayeed and demanded their induction as Rehbar-e-Khel teachers in Education department.
The deputations from other areas raised the issues pertaining to employment, education, healthcare and social welfare sectors.
The PDP Patron assured the deputations that grievances and issues highlighted by them would be taken up with the Government for immediate action and redressal.
