| Sharma asks politicians to declare assets | | | Kalakote July 11 JKPCC General Secretary and MLC Ashok Sharma has called upon all politicians of Jammu and Kashmir to voluntary declare the properties and other wealth which they possess in their own name and in the names of their family members and associates so that vision of Chief Minister Gulam Nabi Azad towards corruption is fully realized. Addressing a meeting of halqa presidents, zonal coordinator and councilors of Congress Party at Kalakote today, Sharma said that after such a voluntary disclosure by political activists about their properties by all the politicians in the state. He said this would pave way for unearthing ill-gotten wealth of politicians beyond their known sources of their income as well as their families. MLC Congress also stated that time has now come that ‘a decisive war against corruption’ is launched to rid the state from this menace. He said stringent action should be taken against corrupt elements both in public life and administration to make Jammu and Kashmir a corruption free state. He reiterated the commitment of the govt. to retire from service at least most five corrupt officials and remove deadwood in each district every month. Sharma also highlighted the programmes, policies and achievements of UPA Govt at the Centre and Congress led govt. in J&K and thanked UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for providing liberal funding to the state and lauded Mr. Azad for his initiatives for peace, progress and prosperity of the people of the state
