| ICELA observes World Population Day | | |

In connection to observe ‘World Population Day’ Indian Council for Enviro-Legal Action (ICELA) organized an interaction here today in which functionaries of the organization, opinion leaders and social activists participated.
As per the press statement, the meeting resolved that ICELA through its committees upto grass roots level would launch awareness programmes about gender equality, safe motherhood promotion of family welfare programmes. Ensuring better mother and child health care services particularly in rural areas and discouraging early marriages. It further said that the focus of the campaign would also be responsibility of men in ensuring dignified life and empowerment of women for establishing a healthy society. The speakers including state convenor ICELA Ashok Sharma also stressed for population stabilization for maximizing fruits of development upto the gross roots level. They also emphasize for focused attention on education girl child.
Among those who addressed the meeting including Ch. Qamar Huasain, Kamal Bakshi, Ashwani Sharma, Sanjeev Mangu, Sunil Gupta and Som Raj Khajuria.
