| BJP Gandhi Nagar Mandal holds protest demonstration | | | Jammu July 11 Gandhi Nagar-Satwari Mandal of BJP, led by its President, Vinay Gupta, today held a demonstration at Nai Basti Chowk to register its protest against use of sub standard material in developmental works in the Mandal. The protestors burnt the effigy of local MLA, Raman Bhalla and raised anti-government slogans. Vinay Gupta, while addressing the demonstrators, said that sub-standard material is used by government departments for various developmental works in the area with the full backing of the local MLA, who is only worried for laying foundation stones and inaugurating works so that he remains in news and gets publicity but never pays attention towards the quality of work and the material used for these works. He said that a glaring example of how the government departments are concerned for ensuring quality work and looting the public money meant for developmental works is clear from the recent incident of boundary a wall of a Public Park in Nai Basti falling on ground in even little rains after it was erected and inaugurated just a month ago on June 05, 2007 by Raman Bhalla. One can well imagine why this newly constructed wall dashed to ground in just one month. It is so because of use of sub standard and poor quality material used in its construction. The local MLA has no concern about the quality of the material, he said adding that his only mission is to get as many as name plates installed and photographs of cutting ribbons, laying foundation stones getting published in newspapers. He asked the local MLA to inquire about the quality of work before he visits for inaugurating any developmental work in future. Baldev Singh, Jaideep Sharma, Vikram Randhawa, Ashok Kumar, Devinder Khajuria, Chander Shekhar Jaggi, Maggar Singh, Sat Pal Choudhary, Dheeraj Gupta, S. Karamjit Singh, S.Mohinder Singh, Vijay Singh Bhan, Jeevanand Sharma, Ludharmani Sharma and Jyoti Parkash Sharma were prominent among those who took part in the protest demonstration.
