| SVO produces challan against municipal, revenue, horticulture officials | | | SRINAGAR: Today SVO has produced challan against five officials and four beneficiaries in the in the Court of Special Judge Anti Corruption Kashmir, Srinagar for misappropriation of Govt money fraduluntly drawn in 1980-81 against factious and forged compensation claim for acquisition of land for construction of a link road from Khansahib to Yarikhah in district Budgam. The officials belong to Horticulture, Revenue and Municipal Committee of Khansahib and Kachiwari district Budgam. The accused officials were found to have misappropriated Govt money to the tune of over Rs 96 thousand Case FIR 24/98 P/S VOK u/s 5(2) P.C. Act R/w 467, 409, 420, 120B RPC was registered following a verification by the SVO which prima facie established that the accused persons namely Sh Mohammad Yousuf Shah alias Akash a class IV employee of Horticulture department Budgam in connivance with other officials of Revenue and Municipality Committees of Kachwari and Khansahib prepared fictitious documents of land compensation for construction of of a link road from Khansahib to Yarikhah in district Budgam in 1980-81. In the course of investigation it was established that the accused officials and private persons in furtherance of a conspiracy have fraudulently drawn Rs 1.82 lacs drawn from the Govt treasury on account of land compensation acquired for the construction of link road from Khan sahib to Yarikhah, Budgam. Out of this amount only Rs 86 thousand was actually disbursed among the land owners, while as the balance of over Rs 96 thousand was misappropriated. The challan of the case was produced in the court of law today after accord of sanction of prosecution by the Govt. The particulars of the other officials challaned are Sh Ghulam Qadir Khan Nursing Orderly NAC Kachiwara , Sh Ghulam Mohammad Shah, Plantation Supervisor Municipal Committee Khansahib, Syed Asgar Ali then Girdawar, Sh Ghulam Ahmed Wani then Patwari and Ghulam Mohammad Shah employee NAC Khansahib. Besides four private persons were also challaned.
