Rs. 1700 realized as fine from defaulters

SURANKOTE, JULY 11
The checking squad comprising Block Medical Officer, Tehsildar, Dy. S.P and Tehsil Supply Officer, Surankote launched a surprise raid in Surankote town and imposed Rs. 1700 as fine to nine shopkeepers for milk adulteration, illegal encroachments and selling rotten vegetables here yesterday.
The squad also directed the shopkeepers to drain the stagnated water as preventive measure against spreading of malaria diseases due to mosquitoes and keep the market neat and clean. The raiding party directed the shopkeepers to keep rate lists at visible space for the convenience of customers.
Later in a meeting of tehsil officers chaired by the Tehsildar Surankote, Ch. Mohd Razaq stock position of k.oil, LPG gas, ration and sugar etc in the tehsil reviewed. He also issued instructions to the tehsil officers to remain present at their headquarter since Shri Budha Amar Nath yatra is going to commence and adequate arrangements of medicare, security, edible commodities shall have to be kept ready.
