| Ousted C-IV excise employees call upon Tarigami | | | Jammu July 12 Ousted Excise Employees (C-IV) continued their protest on the 163rd day in support of their demand of their absorption against their posts. A delegation of the protesting also called upon senior leader CPI (M) M Y Tarigami at Srinagar and apprised him about the assurances given to them from the government side. The delegation under the leadership of Adil Rashid Khan in details discussed their issues with the senior CPI (M) leader who giving a keen ear to their issues assured them of his fullest support and to take up their matter with the Chief Minister and Minister for Finance for early redressal. Meanwhile the protestors staged a protest demonstration outside the office of the Excise and Taxation Panama Chowk while a similar protest was staged at Old Secretariat Srinagar. Speakers reminded the state government about the assurances from chief minister and finance minister given in the assembly on 8/02/07 for regularizing the ousted Class IV employees. They also mentioned that because of the lack of employment has even put them in fix to pay the school fees of their wards. Speakers demanded early regularization of ousted Class IV employees and appealed the chief minister to adopt a rational policy to absorb all those who had rendered over eight years of regular services as permanent employees in the said department.
