| Taj lays stress on speedy completion of works | | | Srinagar, July 12 Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din conducted 3-day extensive tour of far off villages of Uri constituency which include Gohalan, Jabler, Gaggerhil, Moadenan, Trikanjan, Banali, Bernate, Nowshera. The Minister during his visit inspected various development works and traveled a distance of 7 kilometers on foot up to Gohalan. The Minister inspected construction work of Rs. 2.38 crore 7 kilometers Jabla Gohalan road and directed the engineers to expedite the work for its early completion. He also announced opening of two primary schools in the area. The Minister was told that Trikanjan Mandi Nowshera road was nearing completion at a cost of Rs. 75 lakhs. In addition, Handi Shaldachan road has also been taken up at a cost of Rs. 5 lakhs. Barali Trikanjan road has also been completed at a cost of Rs. 10 lakhs where as upgradation of Boniyar Manchi road would be taken up shortly. The Minister on the occasion announced Rs. 2.50 lakhs out of his Constituency Development Fund for construction of bridle path and protection bund in the area. He hailed the steps taken by the Chief Minister to get the shattered economy on right track. The Minister said that present government was committed to uplift the living standard of people particularly in far flung and Border areas. He said that new thrust and directions had already been given to development by introduction double and triple shifts of working. The Minister also made a mention of the sincere efforts of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad in creating a conducive atmosphere for strengthening peace process. He said that once process of dialogue has begun to resolve all bilateral issues there is hope that all issues would be addressed.
