Mangat reviews development scenario of Kargil district
Directs for stocking of essential commodities well in time

The Minister for Health, Medical Education and Ladakh Affairs Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma has underscored the need for timely completion of all developmental projects and stocking of essential commodities in Kargil district adding that keeping in view the geographical condition of the area the working period was limited. He exhorted upon the officers to redouble their efforts for ensuring basic facilities to the people.
The Minister took stock of progress of developmental works in Kargil district at a meeting here today.
Minister for Social Welfare Haji Nissar Ali, Chief Executive Councilor Kargil Hill Development Council Kargil Mr. Asgar Ali Karbalia, MLA Zanaskar Mr. Ghulam Raza, Chief Secretary Mr. C. Phunsog, Commissioner Secretary Transport, Secretary CAPD, Secretaries of various departments and Director Health Services Kashmir were among others present in the meeting.
While reviewing the functioning of health sector the Minister said that medicare facilities were being upgraded under National Rural Health Mission in the area like other parts of the state “posting of local doctors would be made mandatory for doctors, for the purpose rules are being amended. He said that all the vacant posts of doctors and other para medical staff would be filled up at the earliest.
The Minister directed the CAPD authorities to ensure the stocking of essential commodities before closure of Zojila Pass and instructed to supply the quota of flour from Srinagar instead from Leh.
He stressed upon the officers of R&B and PHE departments to accelerate the efforts and complete all under execution projects within time frame and directed the transport authorities to keep available a mobile recovery and waving machine at Sonamarg. He said the matter for plying of light vehicles from Srinagar to Kargil without any restriction would be taken with army authorities.
Mr. Sharma enjoined upon the all functionaries posted in the district to work with devotion and dedication for the welfare of the common masses and ensure mitigation of their day-to-day problems.
He cautioned that any lapse from the administrative side would not be tolerated and instructed the authorities to ensure the punctuality of the employees in the area and make frequent visits for monitoring the execution of developmental projects with quality material.
