| 4 Kg heroine seized near IB, two arrested | | | Jammu, July 12 Border Security Force personnel today foiled a bid to smuggle a huge consignment of drugs after arresting two persons and seized four kilogram heroin, a high quality narcotic costing crores of rupees in the international market, from their possession near Abdullian out post along International Border in R S Pura sector. Sources said that the consignment was reportedly handed over to a local resident of the area, who has hidden it somewhere near the zero line. The consignment was being smuggled to this side of border this morning, when BSF personnel foiled the bid and arrested one person, while another managed to escape from the spot. Giving details of the recovery, official sources said that troops of BSF 129 Bn manning Abdullian BOP noticed a suspicious movement along the border fence this morning. "Two people were noticed throwing some packets from the other side of the fence", sources said adding the troops immediately swung into action and rounded up one of the suspects, while another managed to flee from the spot. The pacts, sources added, were later found to contain heroin weighing four kilogram. The accused, who was first arrested, has been identified as Rakesh Kumar son of Janak Raj of Abdullian. He was handed over to local police for further interrogation. Later, his accomplice Ganesh son Bachan Lal was also arrested by the police.
