| Shastri seeks liberal financial package for state | | |

National Mazdoor conference (NMC) president, Subhash Shastri has reiterated his demand and appealed to the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to declare cities of Jammu and Srinagar as B-1 cities on his forthcoming visit to Jammu.
Addressing a rally of employees at Green Belt Park last evening. Shastri said that giving B-1 status to both historic cities could ensure more flow of the funds for upgrading the capitals of Jammu and Srinagar. He said for giving B-1 status as both cities fulfill the required norms including population. Shastri pointed out that declaring B-I cities would ensure more finds for upgrading infrastructure and modernizing civic amenities of these fast expanding cities.
The NMC Chief also urged Dr. Singh to announce a liberal financial package of Rs. 10000 crores to the state to speed up the pace of development.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Assa Singh, Ragu pal, Rash Paul Singh, Madan Shafi, and Harbans Lal.
