| Kargil festival concludes | | |
Kargil | July 13 A three day Kargil Festival concluded here today at Khree Sultan Choo Sport Stadium, Baroo Kargil. The Minister for Social Welfare Nasir Ali was the chief guest and Chairman, LAHDC Haji Asgar Ali Karbalaie was guest of honor on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Nasir Ali said it is the duty of every one to work for development, promotion and preservation of our age old culture heritage and stressed upon the new generation to divert their attention to promote rich cultural heritage of Kargil. Mentioning the various demands of Kargil district, he said that the Sub Divisional status to Sankoo and Shakar-Chiktan , Block status to Soth and Barsoo, Niabet status to Shergole, Tiasuru, Tehsil status to Drass and Shakar Chiktan etc have already been sent to Bloria Committee for examining their feasibility for up gradiation of Khre Sultan Choo Sport Stadium, Kargil an amount of Rupees two crore is needed , however the Minister declared to give Rs. 30 lakh to initiate the immediate nature of works during this year. He also announced on sport to allot Rs.2 lakh each to the Tourism department and Archery sport organization, Kargil for improvement of tourism infrastructure and purchase of 12 sets of Archery instruments. Asgar Karbalie in his address thanked the Director of Tourism, Secretary to Tourism and Minister for Tourism Dillawar Mir in allotting funds for celebration of Kargil Festival, 2007. Asking the people to maintain communal amity and traditional brotherhood, said that attempts to wedge the people in the name of religion, region and ace by vested interest has to be foiled jointly by all. He further said that peace is the key to lead every road of prosperity towards the district. Among other present on the occasion were Executive Councilors of LAHDC, Kargil Nasir Hussain Munshi, Kachoo Gulzar Hussain Khan, Brigd.S.C Rangi, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Councilors, Senior civil and police officers.
