| News report false, motivated | | | Srinagar, July 13 – An official spokesman today described as mischievous and motivated the news report circulated by a local agency, KNS and carried by a section of the press, suggesting that the Chief Minister while addressing a party convention at Anantnag on Wednesday had threatened with hanging those who were creating a wrong impression about him among the people. The spokesman said that the statement attributed to the Chief Minister is a glaring instance of yellow journalism and far from the truth. He said at no point during his speech lasting for over an hour, or during his brief interaction with the media persons did the Chief Minister speak in a threatening tone or used the words attributed to him in the news report. The spokesman said that it was unthinkable of a person like the Chief Minister to be using harsh tone or language against anybody, much less his political opponents.
