| JRB holds AWARENESS CAMPS | | | JAMMU, July 13, 2007 Jammu Rural Bank under the aegis of its Area Office, Kathua organized Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Awarensss Programmes in Bhambarwan and More Camp Villages of Kathua district yesterday. During these Awareness Camps the farmers of the respective villages participated in large numbers. They were made aware about the use and benefits of KCC Scheme. The farmers were informed that with the use of Kisan Credit Cards, they can avail loan for supporting their agriculture activities with minimum formalities and at a very low and attractive interest rate of 7 % per annum. They were also informed that the KCC holder also gets accident insurance cover and also crop insurance cover. District Development Manager, NABARD, Sh. L. R. Dogra and other bank officers addressed the participants during these meetings. Sh. Dogra dwelt in detail regarding the importance and thrust the Government is laying on the Rural Lending through KCCs, Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Farmers Clubs and how these credit tools can help the farmers in getting rid of the clutches of money lenders, improving their agricultural yield and thereby their living standard. M. L. Sharma, Area Manager, Jammu Rural Bank, apprised the gathering about the role Jammu Rural Bank is playing in the economic growth of the rural areas under its operation through liberalized lending in the agriculture allied and also in other non-farm sector operations. He informed that Bank has started opening no-Frills Accounts (Zero Balance Accounts), Crop Insurance through National Agriculture Insurance Company and brought Life Insurance Services at the very doorstep of the rural people with the help of METLIFE.
